Day 6 @ Shanghai

Today is the last day of exploring! The news flashed to us this morning.

Firstly, we went to 城隍庙(Cheng Huang Miao). However, we never visit the temple but shopped at the shops around it.

Before shopping, we went to the Yuyuan garden. It was a beautiful scenery! Some of the rocks there are from a famous mountain! I think the owner was very rich. He even has his own opera theater. Sadly, my phone ran out of batteries so I cannot show you the pictures.

When we shop, I bought many handicrafts. I was happy that I can bargain an object costing 80 RMB into 16RMB!

Then, we went to have our lunch. It was certainly delicious! Soon, we were to go to the Shanghai City Planning Exhibition Hall. We began to know about the Shanghai Expo 2010. The city gonna change! I wished to go the Shanghai in 2010 so I can see the new and wonderful buildings.

Then, we went to have our dinner. It was a farewell dinner by the Shanghai Society of Astronautics, the organiser of the trip. We have to do our performance we performed in Jin Xin Primary School again, this time to them. After having our dinner, we headed back to the hotel. We boys had a party that we were going back to to Singapore, our homeland.

Tommorrow, we will be going to Singapore!

Day 4 @ Shanghai

" To Shanghai Aerospace, to Shanghai Aerospace, to Shanghai Aerospace...!" I sang in my mind as we walked out of the hotel after having our breakfast. The Shanghai Aerospace Centre was just beside our hotel. When we went in, we saw many fantastic spaceships and military objects. They don' t let us take pictures of the military vehicles, so I only can let you see the spaceships.

It was very interesting and exciting. I wish that Singapore have those things! They were a beauty! I mean, many beauties!

Then, we went to the Oriental Park. We saw many interesting military ships, aircraft, tanks and cannons in a ship. They attracted me so much that I almost got lost while I was looking at those vehicles and the group moved away. When I saw my group going away, I had to run to them. And my umbrella almost blown away for a lot of times. Won' t it be exciting when the umbrella was blown away while I was holding on it? It would be exciting and I can experience life in air with no plane covering me.

After that, we saw the statues of many famous people. Most of them where scientists or mathematicians. Not only there were Chinese people, there were also more other famous people in the world like Albert Einstein and Christoper Columbus

Then, we went to have a steamboat dinner. It was delicious (I overcooked some of them) !

After this delicious dinner, we went back to the hotel. It was a very, very exciting day.

Day 3 @ Shanghai

Today is the day where we launched our rockets. I imagined the sound 'Brrrrrrrr...ZOOOOOM!' by my rocket as I was in the bus (The back, as usual). However, we first have to go to the Shanghai Museum. There were lots of artifacts there, such as jades, old coins and weapons.

How very interesting they were. I wished to have one of these fantastic objects (Except for the mask. They were too scary!)


Then, we went to Jin Xin Primary School for launching our rockets. When it was my turn, I felt nervous. What if my rocket start an explosion? Or start a fire?" No, it cannot be," I thought as I pressed the button. At first, it did not launch. After changing the wire, it zoomed up and landed on the school building! I was so shocked, I thought I'm dreaming.


After launching our rockets, we watched the water rocket launching competition. The boys' flew further than the girls', but they flew out of the field and the girls' won. It was a pity.

Soon, the school teachers annouced the winners. Sadly, I did not win. My rocket worked, only that it landed on the school building and took a shorter time in air. "Never mind, it was not anything serious about losing," I thought to myself.


After we have our farewell performance, we headed back to the hotel. It was an exciting day, with rockets going ' ZOOM!' and having to see interesting things.

Day 2 @ Shanghai

After brushing our teeth and bathing our body, Jeremy and I headed down excitedly. It was the first day to go to Jin Xin Primary School (Which was a government school). We were to make rockets. We went to have our breakfast before going to the bus. I liked to have a bumpy ride, so I sat at the back. Soon, we reached Jin Xin Primary School.

The hall was so good! There were chairs for us to seat, not like our school. I took some pictures of the hall...




So good!
Then, we went to explore the school and see how the pupils study. After that, we made our own rockets. We had fun making them! We worked with our China buddy (I forgot his name) and I liked him a lot becausehe was kind and never get angry when we asked the same question over and over again. It was so interesting that I had to be forced to go out during break time because I was so busy gazing at my rocket.

Tomorrow, we would be launching our rockets. How excited I was!

Introduction

When I was chosen to go Shanghai, I was so excited that I could hardly sleep. So exciting the trip could be.

Wait, wait, what am I talking about?
The Shanghai Immersion Programme, of course.

I was selected to go for the Shanghai trip in my school. The one of the 36 pupils going to Shanghai. We were to go to Shanghai to study further science and Chinese history. Not only it is what I learnt about, I also learnt about friendship and teamwork. After this trip, I decided to write a blog.
